A different plug
isn’t the answer.
Leave the US 120V HD430 at home for these trips. Shark lists this model at 120V. France and Italy use a nominal 230V supply, outside that rating. A plug adapter changes the connection, not the supply voltage.

Would a voltage converter solve it?
Shark’s HD400-series safety leaflet says not to operate the appliance with a voltage converter. Its support page includes HD430 among the applicable models. Do not treat a converter as a workaround. Shark safety instructions, leaflet page 1.
Why there is no complete checker result yet
Shark’s sources disagree about power: the HD430 product page lists 1600W, while the linked safety leaflet gives 1300W, alongside 120V and 60Hz. We have not resolved that difference or approved a complete HD430 compatibility record.
Both sources specify 120V, so the power discrepancy does not remove the mismatch with France’s or Italy’s 230V supply. It does prevent us from treating the specifications as fully settled or selecting an adapter from them.
What to pack instead
Ask your accommodation whether a suitable local hair dryer is available. For another appliance, check its own model code, electrical label and current instructions before packing it.
